Nature & Nostalgia

I nominated this phrase years ago because it seemed to sum-up my areas of interest. I’ve always been amazed at the wonders of nature, and as a result tried to hold on to the past or ‘stop the clock’. It’s somehow a form of longing for ‘home’ i.e. Nostalgia. Here’s some pics of our shops and gardens through the years.

welcome to you !

A name like George Knightsbridge Richard Stevens can be a hindrance. During National Service I remember a sergeant bellowing because he couldn’t fit all the names in the space provided on an official form. On the other hand there have been a few times when the somewhat pompous looking name somehow afforded me greater social status than is in fact the case. I inherited the name from my great, great grandfather born in London in 1824.

As long as I remember I’ve been nostalgic, yearning, and somehow searching. Frankly, what I’ve been searching for still eludes me to this day, but my long-winded name and subsequent events in my life have led me to document and share some of my nostalgic journey.

My good friend Les Berry in his usual enthusiasm insisted I have this website and blog because he most of all understands my quirky personality and the good that lies within every individual. Whomever you are, I truly welcome you to my site and  look forward to reading your contributions and life experiences.

Take care,

Richard, Dick, Dickie, et al

George Knightsbridge Richard Stevens III
